I’ve been invited to be the 2015 TEDxHonolulu Artist in Residence!

TEDxHonolulu is part of the official kick-off of the TEDxAIR Program worldwide, joining a hui (group) of other TEDx events across the world including TEDxSalem (Oregon), TEDxVail (Colorado), TEDxGatewayArch (St. Louis), TEDxVicenza (Italy), TEDxCourtauldInstitute (London), and TEDxSydney (Australia). News about our program will be included in TEDxMtHood’s presentation at the annual TED conference in Vancouver BC in March!

TEDx Artist in Residence programs focus on building relationships with local artists to create art installations that help set the tone for the primary TEDx event, communicate the event theme, and convey an idea worth spreading. Artists work with the planning team throughout the months leading up to the event to design and implement a large scale installation and prepare a TEDx Talk related to his or her art.

I am creating a large piece consisting of 9 - 30” x 80” fabric panels that will serve as the backdrop on the stage. In addition, I’ll be giving a 5-7 minute talk about my work as it relates to this year’s theme of “Paradigm Shift.”
